Our main practice areas are international law and international disputes. These are the cases we enjoy doing and which keep us up around the clock. These practice areas require a blend of skills we possess: understanding the client and its business and context in which it is operated and ability to explain all of these matters to foreign and international judges and arbitrators; understanding how several legal systems may work together and ability to coordinate and work in multi-jurisdictional teams of lawyers. We gained these skills by working at international, Russian and foreign organizations, Russian and international law firms and with clients and law firms from numerous countries and jurisdictions (including Austria, Belarus, Barbados, Belgium, BVI, Canada, China, Cyprus, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, India, Kazakhstan, Liechtenstein, Norway, Poland, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, the United States).
We believe that there can be no unimportant work in an international dispute: experienced lawyers must be engaged and work on every element of the project from collection and review of evidence to analysis of applicable law and practice and to representing the client before an international court or arbitral tribunal. Such an approach, in the first place, protects the client’s interests and the client knows personally the lawyer working on his or her project from start to finish.
Client representation in international and cross-border disputes frequently requires cooperation of a number of legal teams from several jurisdictions. We are always eager to cooperate with other law firms looking for a specialized counsel, or for a local counsel for a project they are working on to assist them with an expert opinion, evidence collection or litigation in Russia.
