Russian Constitutional Court rules in favor of Sergei Golubok’s client

On 23 May 2017 the Constitutional Court of Russia ruled that the provisions of the Russian Federation Code on Administrative Offences permitting detention without judicial review of apatrides and foreigners whose removal from Russia is impossible contradicts the Russian Constitution following a complaint lodged on behalf of Mr N.G. Mskhiladze, a stateless person.

Double Bridge Law attorney Sergei Golubok who represented the complainant before the Constitutional Court noted : “This important ruling may be relevant for other jurisdictions facing similar issues as well. This problem may be addressed in different ways but in any case not through violation of human rights”. Double Bridge Law attorneys regularly and successfully represent their clients before the Constitutional Court of Russia.
