Sergei Golubok on Russian justice system at a seminar in Warsaw

On 22 November 2016 in Warsaw Sergei Golubok was invited by the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights to take part in the expert seminar “Promoting Effective and Integral Justice Systems: How to Ensure the Independence and Quality of Justice” under the auspices of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights.
In his presentation Sergei spoke about the structural issues of Russian justice system highlighted in the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights, in particular, lack of adversarial character of the administrative offense proceeding, absence of legal aid in those proceedings, continued use of metal cages in Russian criminal courtrooms.
